The Coronavirus has infected our life in many ways. Family and friends are sick, quarantined and/or working from home. The stock market has crashed. The kids are out of school. Restaurants and shopping malls are closed. More than three million unemployment claims were filed in one week.  We are all doing what we can to maintain the safety of ourselves and loved ones by practicing social distancing, while simultaneously struggling to maintain operations so as to not feel the financial strain these circumstances have created.

Yesterday, Arizona Governor, Doug Ducey, signed and initiated a Stay-At-Home Order.  As a result, we must take actions to ensure we’re following the order to the best of our ability, while also taking into consideration the needs of you, our valued customers.  Effective tomorrow, April 1, 2020, Amalgatech will be working with both reduced business hours and crew.  At least until April 30, Amalgatech’s business hours will be 6 am – 10 am.  As we will also be operating with a skeleton crew, we will not be answering phones so we can focus on testing. Our president, Melanie Trevino, will be working to the best of her ability to answer all questions/requests via email in a timely manner.  Her email address is: Please feel free to email her at any time for any of your needs.

We understand that these temporary restrictions may have a negative impact on your business, and for this we are deeply appreciative for your patience and understanding.  We will continue to do our best to ensure that every sample received is tested, and reported, as quickly as we’re able.  For this reason, we humbly request that RUSH requests be limited, and that you, our customers, recognize that data will be delayed from our usual speeds.

These are certainly unique times, but we find comfort in the knowledge that we are not managing them alone.  Together, we will make it through and be stronger for it.  You are all in our thoughts; stay safe, stay healthy, and help limit the spread of this crazy COVID-19.

Amalgatech also performs tests specified by OEM test methods, especially those published by Ford Motor Company, General Motors Engineering, Fiat-Chrysler, Toyota, Hyundai-Kia, JIS and the heavy duty engine manufacturers including Caterpillar, Cummins Engine Company and Detroit Diesel (Daimler Trucks). Amalgatech actively participates in consensus standards-setting organizations such as ASTM International and SAE International. Our capabilities include ethylene glycol, propylene glycol, aqueous solutions of glycols, glycerin (glycerol), urea solutions, diesel exhaust fluids and urea prill analysis. We also work daily with engine coolant supplemental coolant additives and engine coolant or antifreeze concentrates (syrups) that are used to blend with glycols to manufacture commercial branded antifreeze or engine coolant products. Amalgatech has offered industry engine coolant training from time to time as requested. Amalgatech is very well repected, due to the longevity the laboratory has accomplished and the ISO 17025 accreditation that it has earned.
